WAX MELT AND WAX MELT BURNER SAFETY ESSENTIALS
Setup
Only use approved wax melt burners or wax melt warmers with open entries to allow proper airflow.
Wax melt burners/warmers with enclosed or restricted openings can pose a fire risk.
Place your wax melt burner or warmer on a heat-safe, level surface away from flammables and drafts.
Cut wax melts in quarters or halves for small burner dishes to prevent overfilling.
Operation
Electric Wax Melt Warmer: Plug in: heat 5 mins, then add wax melt. Adjust temp as needed.
Wax Melt Burner with Tealight: Place tealight in burner and light safely, then add wax melt.
As the wax melts, it will release its fragrance.
Never leave the burner/warmer unattended while in use. Never burn a wax melt in a burner for more than 3-4 hours at a time.
Safety Precautions
Keep away from flammables, drafts, children and pets.
Do not touch the heated wax melt burner or wax melt warmer or melted wax to avoid burns.
Do not move or tilt the wax melt burner or wax melt warmer while in use. Allow to cool first.
Unplug electric warmers and allow to cool completely before cleaning or handling. Do not use electric warmers with damaged or frayed cords.
Maintenance
Regularly clean the burner dish/tray to prevent wax build up using warm, soapy water.
Replace wax melts when scent fragrance fades (for Hara Aroma Co wax melts this is typically 20-30 hours of burn time).
Storing Wax Melts
It's best to store your wax melts in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or heat sources preferably in the Hara Aroma Co. box provided or in a container.
This will help preserve their fragrance and last longer.
Spilt Wax
Our 100% natural wax is easy to clean up as it is water-soluble. Allow any spilt wax to cool completely and harden. Remove larger hardened pieces of wax. For remaining wax residue, use a cloth dampened with warm soapy water to wipe it away.
Replacing Wax Melts with a Removable Burner Dish
When you're ready to switch to a new wax melt scent the easiest and safest method is to use the freezer. Yes, that’s right!
This method only works with a burner with a separate dish for the wax melt.
Allow the wax to cool completely in the burner dish.
Place the burner dish with the cooled wax in the freezer for 5-10 minutes. The cold temperature will cause the wax to contract and release from the sides of the container.
Remove the burner dish from the freezer and gently push it with your finger or a dull utensil. The cooled wax should slide out easily.
Discard the used wax melt or store it and label it for reuse if the scent is still present. Clean the burner dish before adding a new Hara Aroma Co wax melt.
Replacing Wax Melts without a Removable Burner Dish
Wait for the wax to fully solidify and cool down completely after use. Never attempt to remove melted or hot wax.
Gently warm up the warmer by turning it on or lighting a tealight for just a few minutes.
The goal is to slightly soften the outer edges of the wax, not melt it completely.
Grab some paper towels/newspaper. Using an oven mitt or tongs, grip the solid wax disc and pry it loose from the sides and place it on the paper towel or newspaper.
Blow out the tealight or turn off the wax melt warmer and allow to cool down before cleaning any remaining wax residue with a damp cloth.
Never replace a wax melt whilst the wax is hot or pour hot wax down the drain as it can clog pipes when it solidifies.
TEALIGHT SAFETY ESSENTIALS
Prepare
Prepare a safe surface: ensure you place your tealight on a level, heat-safe surface, away from anything flammable or drafts.
If using a tealight in a wax melt burner or wax melt wamer, ensure it is approved for use with tealights and not enclosed.
Burn
Lighting the tealight: use a long match or a lighter to light the wick of the tealight. Never leave a burning tealight unattended and keep it within sight.
Burning time and safety: tealights typically burn for 3-6 hours, though beeswax varieties can last up to 8 hours. We recommend burning for no more than 3-4 hours at a time.
Safety
Allow the tealight wax pool to solidify before moving or disposing of it. Never attempt to move a burning tealight or burn a tealight down to the very bottom.
Safety measures: use tealights only in well-ventilated areas and keep away from flammable materials, drafts, pets, and children.
